When the remixer's style sounds like the original production then it's a real challenge, because it becomes a versus sort of thing & the outcome is expected to be an alternative version or a re-edit rather than a remix... that's exactly the case hjere with the French masters of ghost musicbox, they made the ballad even more ballady.
