Today's Special...

http://i43.tinypic.com/250qjk4.jpg

The stunning Fever Ray (aka The Knife's Karin Dreijer Andersson) unveiled a mesmerizing video, for the second single When I Grow Up from her forthcoming selftitled solo album; to be released on March 30th with (possible) remixes from Tiga & James Rutledge. The video is directed by Martin De Thurah, well know for directing Futureheads' Skip To The End & Royksopp's What Else Is There?, for which Dreijer Andresson (Fever Ray) provided the vocals!

Now, let's get on with the music...

If work wraps up in time, we'll be witnessing the return of Mylo & Linus loves this year.. It's going to be an interesting type of VS. thing since they walk down the same musical road & share the same label.. I can't really say anything, but a demo of a new Linus Loves I heard sounded slightly influenced by Digitalism's Zdarlight & it is brilliant even though it's yet to be finished! I'm still unsure about the Mylo demo though, it sounded like he didn't evolve since Destroy Rock N Roll, but it's early to judge...

Britney Spears - Circus (Linus Loves Remix)

There haven't been any updates on the Alex Metric album since the announcement of Bnann the frontman of Infadels co-writing the lyrics and melodies of Metric's upcoming album with him.

I also remember near the end of last year he said something about remixing MGMT or Empire Of The Sun.. I can't really recall which, but he definitely was planning to send it out as an Xmas gift to blogs, wonder what happened...

Below are 2 of his latest remixes, the Ladyhawke remix has bits reminiscent to Justice's Newjack & I think it's one of Metric's finest reworks, I posted a radio rip a couple days ago off Pete Tong's show, below is an official version in 192kbps...

Ladyhawke - Paris Is Burning (Alex Metric Remix)
Freeland - Under Control (Alex Metric Remix) via

Since we're talking about ladyhawke, check out this 80s bubblegum synthpop remix I received from DDPESH, pretty nice...

Ladyhawke - Back Of The Van (Ddpesh Remix)

Two of my favorite very under-appreciated names Heloise & The Savior Faire & James Pants are combined in the following remix. I love Heloise's management decision to promote her band by giving us well made remixes by big names to share in HQ, much better than those awful low bitrate edits and streaming links some others offer haha!

I highly recommend their album Trash, Rats & Microphones if you're into The Gossip, Princess Superstar, New Young Pony Club & such bands..

Heloise & The Savior Faire - Odyle (James Pants remix)
Heloise & The Savior Faire - Illusions (Modus Vivendi Golden Remix)*
Heloise & The Savior Faire - Illusions (Filthy Dukes Remix)
* Modus Vivendi is an electronica/disco house producer and the original label and management team behind platinum-selling Sam Sparro.

I'll admit I'm not a very good person when it comes to judging a Bassline remix, but these 2 are pretty decent & should be appealing even to those who are not big fans of the style. Apparently I can't tell the difference between Dubstep & Bassline... Ooops! Still these are good.

Kudus to Something Wrong & George Lenton for these!

MGMT - Weekend Wars (George Lenton Remix) via
Justice vs. Simian - We Are Your Friends (Something Wrong Bass Remix)

Dinosavrvs Rex is a cute cartoon band from North England who've done a remix of Pet Shop Boys' Paninaro & accompanied it with a comic explaining how the track came to life. All I can say is, my favorite Mexican restaurants should play remixes like this more often during weekend dinners, the Mariachi band on dancefloor feel is rad...

Pet Shop Boys - Paninaro (Dinosavrvs Rex's PSB Buffet)

I've a Death Metal Disco Scene Remix of The Constelattions 3 days ago calling them a band to watch in 2009, they really came out of nowhere & I'm completely prefer their white gangsta material over MSTRKRFT's new First Of God project which btw I'm sorry to say is absolutely garbage comparing to The Looks.

The Constellations
sent in again another great remix by Pocket of one of the tracks from the new album Southern Gothic, this time featuring children too.

The Constellations - We're Here To Save The Day (Pocket Remix)

Last but not least, here's a an edit I posted a while ago but thought it didn't get enough attention. It's from What Kind Of Breeze Do You Blow? a new one of those artists side/secret projects (I assume) - It's a great edit of Lake Heartbeat's Studio's Dan Lissvik produced new single Mystery. Check it out!

Other WKOBDYB goodie - they are currently remixing upcoming tracks by Flairs & You Love Her Coz Shes Dead!

Lake Heartbeat - Mystery (What Kind Of Breeze Do You Blow? Extended Edit)

That's all for now folks, Will add more as I receive!

♫ Justice vs. Simian - We Are Your Friends (Something Wrong Bass Remix)

Isn't very good and sounds like one the additional remixes that came with the 3rd release on CD.

People need to stop molesting this track so much.
