Spider And The Flies.

Thick eyeliner & damaged Lego wigs for the sake of suspense is always a good prop to accompany well made modern baroque rock & that has been a successful combo on The Horrors ever since they decided to look & make full of sense retro ill music that till this day I admit that the image was the key to the core of their music. Although, The Horrors have been hiding in the shadows since their public activity died post album release, yet 2 members decided it was a good time to experiment with something different on the side.

Spider Webb & Tomethy Furse of The Horrors are now Spider & The Flies. They've put together a Mini LP built up completely using electronic analogue instruments & the result is nothing less than the awesome weirdness of Metronomy but from a more horrific dimension.

The 7 tracks mini LP Something Clockwork This Way Comes is set for release on the 2nd of February through Mute Irregulars & is inspired by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and Delia Derbyshire - the electronic music pioneer who worked on the iconic 'Dr Who' theme.

Metallurge gives me visions of the Rocky Horror Show but set in a spacey empty warehouse with lots of YaYa Girls being tortured by Aliens in a cartoonish manner. You'll be amazed at how melodic this could be for something that is supposedly a Sci-Fi thing. I just can't stop listening to it.

Spider & The Flies - Metallurge

They even done an awesome X-files-esque Radiohead remix that I'm sure lots of you didn't even know it existed!

Radiohead - Reckoner (Spider & The Flies Remix)

Another addition to the great new Bands/Projects of 09 list!
