Ever since i read that
piece of news rumor that
Lykke Li is going to be featured on the soon to be released next
Röyksopp LP, I've been in my
Röyksopp-for-any-time-of-the-day mood - heck i've been listening to the whole discography/remixography of
Röyksopp today & it only made my situation worse... It better land before the end of the year or I'll just keep playing there old stuff to death & end up hating them!

♫ Röyksopp - What Else Is There (Night Out - Live)
UPDATE!Gosh, I don't know how this post is going to make any sense but I'll try my best to explain it without leading you to needing treatments for cross eyes – I'm going to start from the beginning… well, after publishing the I♥Röyksopp post I realized I wasn't the only one who's totally head over heels for their luminous melodies; & a bunch of emails came in later that day thanking & declaring ones love for the Norwegian due - & then there was this wake-up-there's-more-to-them email from a Finnish graphic designer/illustrator-photographer
Miika Saksi who knows quite a lot about
Annie &
Röyksopp's history (being a fan himself) - attached to his email was a zip file that contained a spring pressed jewel filled boxing glove that knocked me off with joy (including spiraling stars around my temple), it got me totally OMG-ing – I never knew
Röyksopp remixed a J-Pop song & the late discovery makes the I'm-so-happy feeling even stronger for now I have an old brand new remix to enjoy!
It's probably the only remix with the
The Understanding era style - soft & crunchy at the same time!
♫ Eri Nobuchika - Sing A Song (Röyksopp I Kramsø Remix) ←♥Now that I know more remixes exist it became my duty to splash a proper remixography a.k.a. hunt list - so here it is, if you need a copy!

♫ Roots Manuva - Colossal Insight (Röyskopp Remix)
♫ Annie - Heartbeat (Röyksopp's Mindre TIlgjengelige Remix)
♫ Beck - Still Missing (Röyksopp Remix)
Now we all probably remember the
Back To Mine compilation
Röyksopp were asked to put together of their all time favorite tracks; but did you know that sneakily they included a track called
Meat Ball by themselves disguised as
Emmanuel Splice!
Sounds more like a popified DFA!
♫ Emmanuel Splice – Meat BallNow let's chop
Röyksopp up – divided into 2 you get :
Svein Berge(Butch Brunette – only remixes with Torbjørn Brundtland under Röyksopp)
&
Torbjørn Brundtland(Flam Blondie – also remixes with other friends/bands too)
These are the co-remixes
Torbjørn Brundtland have done...
♫ Shauna Davis - Get Away (Volcano Club Mix)
♫ Shauna Davis - Get Away (Volcano UK Mix)
♫ Malin - Kinky People (Strangefruit Dazy Age Mix) –Also Co-Prod Orig.
♫ Sway - Yum Yum Gimme Some (Metropolis Deep Vibe Dub)
♫ DJ Malin - La Serenissima (Malin Soda Dub) –Also Co-Prod Orig.
♫ Biosphere - Insomnia (Alanïa Mix)
Now behold this rare gem that not so many people have in it's entirely – If you heard/own
Annie's installment for
DJ Kicks then you probably remember an amazing electro-house tune titled
Geared Up!? Well, that track is produced by
Pehrson &
Brundtland (Flam Blondie from
Röyksopp) & the vocals are by Annie; unfortunately the version on
DJ Kicks is only 3:40 (mixed with other tracks intro/outro) when the original is 5:32 & no where else to be found (physically) – Surprisingly, I hit my Windows XP search engine for
Geared Up & voila there it was in an ancient folder from the P2P (Kazaa, Limewire….etc) days & it's in its full 5:40 min glory!
This is my tune of the day, btw!
♫ Pehrson & Torbjørn Brundtland – Geared Up (ft. Annie) ←♥♥We know that
Richard X &
Röyksopp have produced tracks for
Annie's successful debut
Anniemal and most of the time they are the ones who get credited for that record's brilliance (maybe
Richard X more) when actually most of it was produced by Timo Kaukolampi!
Who the fuck is
Timo Kaukolampi you ask?
Timo Kaukolampi is the dude who formed
Op:l Bastards with his friend
Vilunki3000 (
Mikko Viljakainen) – these 2 were members of
Röyksopp's LIVE band back in the day & they are the same 2 guys who created that rare Finnish gem
Rokkibaby (Rock Your Baby) by
Disko Anne & Karvaopelit!
Let me break it down for you:
Disko Anne =
AnnieKarvaopelit =
Timo Kaukolampi +
Vilunki3000 (
Mikko Viljakainen)
It's from
The Chill Of Collette compilation –I'm dying to find someone who owns that to ask for a proper 320kbps rip once & for all.
♫ Disko Anne & Karvaopelit - Rokkibaby (Rock Your Baby) 192kbps
Funny thing, they made that track with Annie in one night as a joke!
Anyhoo, here’s a brill track from
Op:l Bastards' album
The Job – had to throw in something since I mentioned them & it's a total first time hitter!
♫ Op:l Bastards – ScorpiusThere's still more to this post but let's leave that for another time!
Röyksopp, one of the best electronic bands to ever exist - hands down.
