#10 Metal On Metal - No Front Teeth/No Front Teeth (Less Metal Edit)
Lithuanian un-metallic dance plates manufacturers MOM shone the most for their remixes of Bloc Party, Wax Stag, Kissy Sell Out, New Young Pony Club, Datarock & best of all for their rage pumped Blood Red Shoes remix this year; but while we were blinded by the remixes an original didn't receive its deserving credit, a track titled No Front Teeth which is weirdly an anthem for losing front teeth. If you'd get to attend a teeth breaking event you'd probably end up watching a cheer leading routine by fronteethless (made up word?) cheerleaders working their magic to this tune.

It's a heavy metal track pretending to be commercial techno'd trance that sounds like an indie type of electro thing when it's actually dance. For those who suffer from fear of metal there's even a re-released less metal edit which is a good tune for bad dancers!

Teeth are for losers.

#9 Chateau Marmont - Anything & Everywhere
Deriving from the now-became-preset distortion scene in France, meet the currently on high demand for remixing & the future addition to your favorite Parisian synthpop bands. They are the sinus free Metronomy on redbull minus all the weirdness & full on melody without over doing it. Anything & Everywhere is a beautiful flawless synth powered piece of goodness guaranteed to satisfy the taste buds of every Cut copy, Midnight Juggernauts, CSS (early days), Ladyhawke, Sebastien Tellier & Seelenluft fan.

I think they found the holy book of melodic arcade hall pop, there is no other explanation.

Fresh, current & to the point.

#8 The Twelves - When You Talk
It's a pain to get even a bootleg remix off the guys let alone ask for it in high bitrate, these newcomers actually are aware of the powers they hold within their sound & price charging higher than Fred Falke for remixes even proves it further more that when other might need years to build a reputation they already have it (all thanks to blogs I must say). Arrogant or not, I admit that every time i see their name between brackets next to any track I immediately assume it would be brilliant & I was never wrong - they just know what they are doing.

They've got everything in their favor that even their demos, When You Talk being one of them are being considered by many that i know as top tracks of the year. There's something really really perfect about this song that I'm not even sure they know what they made & i don't think they could have done on purpose.

I don't really care if there's a some sort of a hidden spell within their tunes, because i want loads more of this.

#7 Zombie Nation - Forza/ZZT - The Worm/Tiga - Mind Dimension 2
The sound of the future? The genetic mutation of eardrums? The maximal illusion of minimal techno? The forced music direction change conspiracy? The conscious awakening of the subconscious? The extinction of high decibel? The illegal hypnotism through sound waves? The shape shift of pop? The antidote to goodness? The mass villainism? The substitute to sobriety? The selfish corruption of an international scene? The death of machine roars? The untraceable key to vandalism? A Genius deliberate accident? Answers: December 2009

Too early to jump.

#6 Flairs - Truckers Delight
I think I was the first person in the blogging world to say in January that this is going to be in my top 20 tunes by the end of the year & here it is within the top 10. Guess who shares their love for it too? Soulwax!!! They included it on the Pete Tong Essential Hot Mix With Soulwax & again on their Part Of The NYE Never Dies Mix.

An instrumental fuming with faux synths smoothly sliding over shipshaped bass & keys interrupted by fluky wooden clacks & claps; But what boosts it’s characteristic is the delicious live drums played by Cosmo Vitelli. It’s somehow a made-for-the-catwalk music with a videogame approach; this is probably what 8-bit music sounds like in 3D.

Fantastic Videogame Fantasy.

#5 Ted & Francis - Erlend
I can't stop thanking god enough for the distorted car alarm like electro shutter stutter music making Like Whoa's decision to redirecting their previously fully unused talent to a more stuffed-toys-compatible side project name Ted & Francis, making vocal-present waffle-like muncha-ble dreamy pop music with a garnish of fruity beeps for the tang - a snack they call 'Tropical Pop' & it comes from Australia.

Their timing could not have been any better as the noise craze lightened down & melody kept sneaking in slowly as the end of the year got closer & sweet harmonic melodies is what Ted & Francis do.

Softcore Porn anyone?

#4 Lo-Fi-Fnk - Want U
You know when you hear a song and you think it's a cover because it sounds so familiar like you've been listening to it throughout your childhood but you're not sure, well when that happens it only means that you're listening to a brilliant song tailored for your liking & this is definitely the case with Want U.

It's a much mature & polished sound without losing the homemade quality, & to be honest i never was that crazy about them in the past but after this I'm willing to change because this tune managed to give me that awesome feeling only hits from the 80s & 90s managed to.

If this is any indication of what the next Lo-Fi-Fnk LP is going to sound like, then someone please build me a time machine so i can fast forward to its release date.

It should be the official international theme song to swimming in space with dolphins.

#3 Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars (Vocal)
I think asking Ted (Rhys) of Ted & Francis to lend his cuddly boyfriend material vocals to Shooting Stars was the wisest Bag Raiders move this year. The track itself sounds like a ride on a shooting star into space, extravagantly overwhelming, star dusted & therapeutically euphoric - I can't explain what the bass sounds like on this gem, but i guess if it was eatable then it would be hot fudge because it makes me all warm inside.

We bloggers tend to occasionally use the term Cosmic to describe a tune that is bigger than our earthly terms could put into words & this is definitely cosmic my friend.

#2 Little Boots - Stuck On Repeat
Not only this marvelous piece of pop art got stuck on repeat through our speakers, headphones & ringtones but visually too as soon as it existed on the world wide web, every blog you could name in your head had to have their say about it including some of the most reputed magazines, forecasters & pop justice doers when it was all still a bit of a mystery thing.

Little we knew that soon what sounded like a Kylie Minogue inspired music outfit would turn into our favorite blog popstar that has nothing in common with the already mainstream pioneers but greatness, a pretty girl with a mission to mark the best bits of current pop and combine them for her & our own good.

After all, having her first track produced & hummed allover by Joe Goddard of Hot Chip only tell us she's serious and knows what she's doing therefor we were obligated to take her in with open arms & gosh I'm so glad we did.

The dirtiest motherfucking G-rated pop gem to get me slow-motion-pose-dancing this year on the dancefloor & in my bedroom, hands down.

Well done Vix.

#1 Justice - Planisphere
My most played song & the most downloaded mp3 off Ohh!Crapp... of the year.

The majestic track Justice pinned for Dior Homme Printemps-été 09; A gargantuan snarling mechanical beast gloriously shining in black light with over a 1/4 of an hour of theatrical opera mayhem, Victorian strings, ethereal church echo, machine prowls, guitar moans & bruising distorted beats guaranteed to warp you into the church of Justice.

Definitely deserves a PHWOAR.

Wow! Other than the little boots track (which I love, but didn't hear enough of to consider) our top fives are exactly the same. Mad props on including both the dirty techno (zzt, new tiga track) and the clean techno (lo-fi-fnk, bag raiders, ted & francis). It's much appreciated!

You deliver the crack better and more beautiful than anyone! If 'Planisphere' was your no. 1, how about Culture Prophet's remix? It brings the best parts of the track home into a blitzin five minute beast for me.

Cough Cough....ummm..Lo Fi Fink is familiar sounding because the melody (and the synth sound) is exactly Fatboy Slim's "Song For Lindy".

The Twelves are getting bigger by the hour. Perfect example of the Blog-Made band. Theire Presets-When you talk remix is on my top 3. Just brilliant!!
Zombie Nation/Tiga....Sorry, but it really does't work for me, at all!! Simply don't get it.
Shooting Stars & Stuck on repeat are two pop gems. Bag Raiders best song so far. I'm addicted to it!!
Finally, Justice.Well....Lets just say that i prefer when the boys bang it, but non the less this one is still great in its hown genre.
As for your blog : great music/bitrates + daily & most of all posts you can actually read ( what the f**k's going on in those blogs where they just lay no matter what, like poetic/shitty stuff!!??).
