Lorenz became one of my Remix heroes this year after i came across his marvelous remix of Ben Mono's 'Hit The Bit' (featuring Yo Majesty, mhmm), every time i play it i get the urge to drop some coins down a slot... you know that awesome feeling you get when you go down to the Arcade Hall & you start hearing those awesome intermission tunes coming out of the light studded prize machines, demanding for your touch - well, his remixes resurrects that feeling comfortably through your iPod without even having having to spend a dime!
In July he dropped another remix down the same style line of it's predecessor (although 'Hit The Bit' remix tromps this) - & Knee Deep USA (the label) have authorized Mr. Rhode to let us PWN it for FREE!
"Don't know much more about the original production though... but, as you can hear, the original is very disco/classic house/mainstream. So I decided to take it a bit more into synth territory, with those french chords, just a tiny bit of the original vocal left, a retro drop in the second half... Most of the "wall of sound" comes from a Sequential Cirquits Prophet 5. I had bought it just before doing this remix, and I was blown away by the fat chord and bass sounds this synth produces (for example, the raveish bass sound starting at 2:51)." -Lorenz Rhode
