The Klaxons, undoubted darlings of the Nu Rave scene (whatever the hell that is), have rather satisfyingly been remixed by a slew of big name artists, some receiving more attention than others (anyone else notice the Van She remix of Gravity's Rainbow on a Wrigley's gum advert?) However, there's one such remix that has been woefully overlooked. French/Swiss couplet, Mr Miyagi, turned out this remix of Atlantis To Interzone waaaaay back in October. Were as the original teetered on the brink of chaos, Mr Miyagi's is tamed and obedient but never loses the underlying frantic nature that made the original so great. Boo-ya!!!

The Presets Are Back!

The Presets - My People
Seriously, i almost wet my pants when their myspace page loaded... they just made their new single "My People" available on their player days ago & it's just magnificent!

"'My People' is gargantuan. A snarling beast of a record, it bristles with fuzzy scratches of guitar snaps, bubbling arpeggiated synths and an instantly memorable, call-and-response, chanted hook.

The song sounds like the rattling of an electrified disco zombie chain gain. It's future pagan.

It's a call to arms to party. Are you in?" -Modular

DL: The Presets - My People

The single will be digitaly released on "Dec,18"..Hurry check it out on their MySpace.

SymbolOne!
SymbolOne
Recently my friend boombap made a
post about a new artist called "SymbolOne" & i think he did them justice when he said :
"If you like Danger, Futurecop!, Kavinsky... or just good electro music without words in general, you WILL like (if not LOVE) SymbolOne. Now with certified Justice seal of approval!
Quick, start liking them before everyone else does!"

Immedaitely after listening to those 2 tracks i added them on my repeate route playlist! Someone who can make music this good deserves to be noticed and loved (i tell you) & since there's not much to find out about them over the internet (yet) i decided to interview the new hot electro scientists "SymbolONe"!

DL: Everything Louder Then Everything Else
DL: Love Juice

Download these two & enjoy reading our interview, Hope you like it!

Interview: SymbolOne!
SymbolOne
* Hey Hey Hey! Heheh How are you?

Actually i feel like crap at the moment. thnx. ;).

* What are your real names? How old are you? Why the name SymbolOne?

Eduard Raos and Vinko Pelicaric. 36 (19) and 30 (16) respectively.

Why the name... well SymbolOne haunted us for years so we just said ok we give up, we are yours, obey the symbol.

* When you say identical twins you mean…?

We are musical twins. We think and do the same. But at the moment we have same kicks too... hmm i wonder what does that say about us.

* How come you're music is so good?

Is it? Yeah some people say it is so I guess it must be. :) ..i dont know, you got me there, i guess we just make music in a way we like it ... it's cool to see that there's a people who dig your music.

* Why aren't you signed yet? Have you received any offers yet? Who do
you hope to get signed with?

We made some contacts but didn't really had any serious talk about publishing or distribution. When we release something we want to have control on how that products looks and feels when you get it. We would love to have support form some indie label that takes care of their artist in similar way that Pedro and guys from Ed Bangers are taking care for each-other. Family type :D

* People just started writing about you, how long have you had your
MySpace up?

Our space is there since April 2007.

* There are three tracks on your MySpace page, tell us about each one
of them! How did you end up making them, what were you thinking of while making them? & how did you want them to sound when you're done!?

Everything Louder… Then, Everything Else:
ELTEE....We did this one with our legs :) well im not sure about this one... it just came up as it is.... at that moment i listened to Van Halen and wanted to play typing solo badly, but obviously i failed :)

Love Juice:
Vinko did this one with his hands.
ahhhhh this one was a mess at the beginning... i was recording one song and playing keyboards and i wanted to record a line for it and i just started playing chords from Love Juice in the middle of this track, so i recorded the chords and everything was there.. it was finished in a no time.... but mainly i was focused on feeling, a lot of emotions were involved here so thats why it was easy, i guess it's easier to work with massive beam of emotions and love towards someone, and thats what happened there.... jeez now i sound like a hippie, love, peace, unity hahahah

Mean Rocket:
That's our first song we are not completely happy how it sounds at
the moment but it's there to remind us how we started...anyway i like
it allot it's a banger hahahah !!!!!

* What equipments did you use to make your music?

Ableton, some VST's and loads of analog gear.

* Your music greatly channels the brilliance of Justice, KAvinsky &
Danger! I even several times thought I was listening to "Danger" when it was actually your songs! Now the funny thing you mentioned a lot on your list of influences but none of those were included? Is it offending to be influenced by another new artist or you just didn't think your music falls under their shadow?

Those were our older influences (listed). Our newer influences are in our friends list (top mostly but not necessarily). And it's not offending, why it should be. We are influenced everyday by loads of different stuff - sounds, music, images, feelings..... So you can't say that we are influenced by anything particular. If some of our songs sounds to you like Danger or Justice or whatever maybe it's
your perception :)

* We're you expecting this kind of reaction to the music from the people? I mean every blog writing about you seems to be hyped!

We are happy that people feel nice when they hear our music. Music is suppose to be making you feel good even if music itself is sad. We don't necessarily do music thinking that it should be dancing music. But since we like to dance ( all-do i cant remember when was the last time i danced, im kind of stiff lately :) ) and we feel good doing it I guess some of our songs can be dancey.

* Tell us about your first EP... which track are you going to include with "Everything Louder, Then Everything Else" & who's the chosen ones to remix it?

Ep will contain Love Juice plus one more song... will it be ELTEE or something new we'll see .... as for remixing part ... Moulinex is doing one remix and Passions is doing another so we will see how it will turn out at the end, but i really like them both.

* Since the EP is limited to 535 copies, how do you suppose normal fans are going to get their hands on one? Is it going to have a digital release? Are you going to sell them or there are strictly for promo distribution?

The idea is to create something that people will love... it has to look/feel/sound nice. It will be mostly promo. We will try to sell some via PayPal if people will be interested in buying just to cover some pressing expenses, but there will be digital release too at the end.

* Do you have any more finished tracks that you're hiding for the
future?

We have tons of songs waiting to be finished. We just need a kick in
the butt and a studio where we can sit and work not thinking about
existence.

* Cross for Justice, Pyramid for Danger, & Helmets for Daft Punk…
What's yours?

You didn't say what's all that , a cross, the pyramid...?
Those are all symbols and our name is a symbol so i don't know what shape it would be, at the moment it's a pyramid with the cross attached on the top with two helmets on each side of it !!! All symbols are ours we are just renting them :) .

* Who's responsible for your artwork?

We are, for now.

* Why is the photos section of your MySpace private, Nudity Much?

I didn't realize that. Vinko wtf... hahahha ... no there is just
nothing there thats why....

* Who's (in your opinion) is the best new artist of 2007? Why?

Britney Spears. We don't know why... we love you Britney!!!

I dont know, i have a few to mention but again im not sure... somehow i totally dig what daft punk did this year...

* Who would you love to remix for in the future?

Anyone with a decent song. You know what we mean about decent song. It can be heavy metal but it has to be a good song.

* Blogs writing about new artists & posting their mp3's? Great free
promotion or disposable sabotage?

It looks good until they become extended hands of some label. Payed
for promotion :D

* In a parallel realm you're… the "Super Heroes" or the "Super
Villains"? Why?

Sane ... or a bit of both ... it depends on current constellations.

* Where do you like to shop for T-shirts?

On da internets hahah...

* I just checked your MySpace account again & it looks like you
replaced the list of influences with a picture of an armed robot!?

It hit us like. It was a moment.

* ohh by the way when do you expect to have your EP out? Around when?

It should be ready in mid/end of January 2008 but you never know with us.

* I would love to say that I'm a fan but it's still too early for
that so I'm going with "believer" because I believe you're going
somewhere & sometimes next year you will be big.. It's just obvious
from your music! So thank you for making music that I love & for this
interview!

holy crap! thnx man.

*TaDa!

ok,TaDa,DaTa to you too! hahahha

The Whip!
Having been extremely busy these last 10 months, The Whip show no signs of slowing down as the year comes to an end, they've just released their brand new single 'Sister Siam'.

The idea is pretty simple, quiet, dubbed vocals over plinky-plonky screechy synths and beats! 'Sister Siam' is a textbook example of how to use electro bleeps and beats to build up to a pounding four to the floor chorus, all topped off with punky guitars. The "You go your way and I'll go mine" vocal sticks in the head, despite us having no idea what the rest of the lyrics are.

The single caters for many musical tastes, but mostly indie and dance heads, up for a good time. Their music has a real sense of fun to it, and the backing remixes from Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya, Justin Robertson and James Rutledge are exceptional.

DL: The Whip - Sister Siam

With much interest surrounding the band, it's no wonder they have acquired a place in the 'ones to watch' category for this year and next.

US Cunt/UK Romance!
Beside remixing for Air, Simian Mobile Disco, Goodbooks, Lo-Fi Fnk, & New Young Pony Club. London based Frenchies “The Teenagers” have effectively updated the 2007 list of best new “artists-to-watch” with this entertaining potty mouthed single “Homecoming” driven by vulgar lyrics of a boy and a girl recounting their own versions of an encounter with her talking up the romance and him dwelling on the vaginal experience over a vintage scuzzy Velvets-esq guitar backdrop.

Tracklist:
1. Homecoming (Original)
2. Homecoming (Gentlemen Driver Rave Remix)
3. Homecoming (Guns ‘N' Bombs XTC 1996 Remix)
4. Homecoming (Passions Remix)

The remixes are absolutely awesome, strong & electronic to death! Stuttery disco dance glitch, electro lazer beamed video game battle & noisy distorted guitar static!

Bonus Remix: Homecoming (SLUTTT 98% Done Remix)

The single has been out for a while now, but “Kitsune” just recently released the remixes 12”!

I Interviewed : KAP10KURT!
K10K

* Hey how's it going? I want to congratulate you on inventing & releasing "Danger Seekers"!

Hell yeah! Thanks, that was not an easy one...And i was not sure if it was over peoples heads (not in an arrogant way) with all its modulations etc...

* First things first, tell us about the name "Kap10Kurt", yourself, your music, & what extended genre you fall under!

It's of course a reference to Star Trek which I often watched as a young boy growing up in switzerland. I remember the music always impressed my very much and had this longing for something greater...

* I'm guessing "Danger Seekers" is your first commercial single! Which I must say is beyond brilliance, it just locks you in a clubby state of mind when listening to it! How did this piece of rapture come to life... what were you thinking while creating it? What's the feeling your trying to extract from the listener with it?

That state of euphoria when u could scream and wrap your arms around the world...Like driving home from a club on your modded moped really fast and you sing loudly into the night cause u just made out with the girl of your dreams that u thought was completely out of your league.

* What's your promotional plan for it?

we're gonna go out and play our asses off...EuroLand next few weeks...Maybe australia in later Spring and back to Euro in February.

* Remixed by "Shichi Osawa, TEPR, ROLF"… You're really are conscious about your work huh!! Why you chose them, How did they get involved... you asked them or did they offer to remix for you?

I asked them because I was such a Fan of their work. Shinichi is a true Master with his insane attention to detail. I was hopeing he would do it...Tepr I found cause his MinuitJacuzzi track which i Dj'd countless times and his production has an elegance and something royal to it. And Rolf Honey, he is of course the Master of muscular Beats...Very manly production and I knew dangerseekers could benefit from his expertise in creating a Track that could do damage.

* I was hoping to see remixes of "Danger Seekers" by "Kissy Sell Out" or "Touche" or "Mr Myagi" coz I think their style would work well with your music! Don't you agree? Are you familiar with them?

Of course, Kissy sell out is mega and has been supportive of k10k.

* You recently remixed "Kingdom" for depeche mode's lead man "Dave Gahan" & I was surprised that it's more of an enhancement than a remix! & I even (at times) prefer playing your version rather than the original! Can you tell us about it? & do you know Dave in person??

Yes i do, actually... I played some gigs on Synthesizer with dave Gahan as promo for the new Record. About Kingdom...It was commissioned as a "extended mix" but i got lost in it and took it a bit further and was worried that I might have taken it too far since i displaced some Bass and guitar riffs to make it a hint more dancey. The other kap10kurt remix is "use you" and then there is another one coming which I cant name yet. haha...

* Who are your influences!?

Electric LIght Orchestra, Orchestral Manoevres in The Dark, Depeche Mode, Yello, Apparat Organ Quartet, Erik Malmberg, Gap Band, John Barry (007 scores of course), Prince, Wendy and Lisa, The Time, Van Halen.

* A lot of the new hyped about electronica artists are swearing by (sort of) a similar sound.. like Justice, Kavinsky, Danger, TEPR, Boys Noize, Breakbot, Symbolone, Alavi!? Is it a new music movement or just a coincidence?

Dunno, there is def a connection though..its good....its euro!! haha...

* Is k10k strictly music, or vocals are also an option?

depends on the Song...I used to sing through a Vocoder but its so overdone and it really really is a challenge to write interesting music without Vocals. So hard to me...Mainly Instrumental...

* Have you currently done remixing or in the process of remixing for anyone?? (if yes) Who?

Another Dave Gahan Track.

* Blogs writing about new artists & posting their mp3's? Great free promotion or disposable sabotage?

Great fun...not just promo, i stumble over great music on blogs...just not much time lately...need an office job.

* "Danger Seekers" video? Who's directing? When?

Its a gang of Artists called "the holograms" (they in my Top friends) and they are extremely talented visual Artists form Paris. They also did the art for the Dangerseekers picture Disc.

I'll see them in 2 weeks in paris and will see a ruff of the video.

* I know it's early for this question but is there going to be an album in the near future or are we going to be graced with multiple independent 12''s & EPs before that happens?

Its gonna be at least 1 more 12" and then album this summer...

* Thank you for giving me your time to do this interview! I love your music & I love you man. Good luck for the future (even though you don't need it).

I totally need luck...daily...especially on a bike in NYC...

*Have a wonderful day!

You too, good night...

Ohh!Crapp...Interview :We Are Wolves!
WAW
* First things first, tell us a little bit about your music, why did you choose the name "We Are Wolves", & are you a "New Rave" band or do you prefer to be categorized under "Soft-Psych"?

We chose the name We Are Wolves because once, about 5 years ago, Alexander came into the practice space wearing a home made t-shirt with a skeleton spiting out a synth on it. It was also written We Are Wolves on it. We thought it sounded nice. Also, let us say that we are more into the "WE ARE" part of the name then the "WOLVES" part.

If I had to choose between the two, I would definitely go for Soft-Psych. Even though we never have been labeled in this category. But it sounds good, I'm going for it!

* Why did you choose "Fight & Kiss" as the first single?

Because this song is catchy, it has a punk drive and a dance drive to it. We thought it would be a good combination for a We Are Wolves single. Plus, it is short enough!

* You have some interesting titles on "Total Magique" like "Coconut Night", what’s the story behind it & what inspires you to write your songs? Is there a message or is it just words that fits with the music?

Alexander, the singer writes all the lyrics! I think for the first record we wanted the lyrics to be part of the music. Just like another layer of sound on top of everything else let's say! So we went for short sentences and slogans... like primitive chanting. For Total Magique, we wanted to be more pop. Obviously, from that point of view, the lyrics became really important. The approach certainly have changed!

* Were there any difficulties/challenges during the making of "Total Magique”? & I'm curious. Were there any more songs recorded but left out?

I remember we wanted to remain punk in the overall feeling and kind of saturated when it comes to the dance parts. Not so many songs were left out. I can think of one song in particular, but it will be on the Japanese pressing!

* A lot of people are comparing & viewing you as the rivals of the Klaxons? Why do you think that is? Really?

We’ve never been told that! No jokes! That's interesting...well why do you think that is?

* Would your work ever mellow or go mainstream (if it involved a major record deal with a big paycheck)?

I think we will always be inspired by the underground scene. That is where we come from. That's the kind of music we have been listening to growing up. But nobody in the band is afraid of pop music. In fact, we are all fascinated and intrigued by it. The real challenge now that our first record is behind us, is to combine underground attitude and melodies.

* If in the future WAW wanted to add a female vocalist to the band who would it be & why?

There is a female vocalist on one track on Total Magique! Listen to the track "So nice, So cold", it's Alexander's girlfriend voice! I think it fits the song perfectly!

* Blogs writing about new artists & posting their mp3's? Great free promotion or disposable sabotage?

“Great free promotion".

* Why the hell do bands shape their fingers in an "L" form and tap it rapidly on their foreheads every time the word "New Rave" is mentioned?

I don't know...maybe because most people fear trends so they react strongly. I have no opinion really on the New Rave movement. It's just another scene.

* What does WAW do on their freetime?

They fucking enjoy it!

* What was the last good movie you watched?

Poltergeist...it was on Halloween.

* Who have you been listening to lately?

Hits from the 50's...as for today November 11th 2007.

* Beside Gigs, What's next for WAW? Another Single? Video? Remixes? T-Shirt Line Maybe?

All that! Yes.

* Thank you so much for doing this interview & be sure that we will support you till the day you split (god forbid),THANK YOU!

Dan Balan is "Crazy loop" he's influenced by "Bee Gees, Jim Carrey, Prince, MC Hammer" & his music is indie with an italo/euro dance twist!

Gang Gang Dance!
There’s a band called Gang Gang Dance that really, really needs to be heard. - NME

It’s as if the group found a cassette shop inQueens selling dead-stock, early 80s African, Jamaican and Middle-Eastern music and fused it with Lizzie Bougatsos’ Kate Bush, Lizzy Mercier’s Descloux inflections, and someRaggaeton/Dancehall elements. Hopefully, it’s just a primer of what is to come.
” - Soma

Everything they do has an air of “wow, totally” to it.
” - Vice

Gang Gang Dance spent the better part of 2006 writing, performing, and recording new material with Chris Coady (TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blonde Redhead) for the follow up to 2005’s acclaimed God’s Money.

RAWWAR is the first glimpse of exactly what the band have been up to over this prolific year. Clocking in at just over twenty minutes and sprawled across three tracks, a taster for what is to come.

RAWWAR (EP) :
01. Nicoman
02. Oxygen Demo Riddim
03. The Earthquake That Frees Prisoners

Nicoman: a live favorite from the last few years which has been refined in the studio. Bombastic and dance-oriented it blends the bands affection for musical styles, propelling the listener through the four minutes of audible tribal chaos, while at the same time demonstrating GGD’s talent for pop melody.

Oxygen Demo Riddim: finds the band improvising and building musical ideas into a dreamy hypnotic interlude-like instrumental melodic electropop track with a dramatic twist. Strongly reminds me of the cartoons i used to love & watch in the late 80's/90's!

The Earthquake That Frees Prisoners: The final, almost cinematic, studio composition which unfolds over ten minutes. This was painstakingly assembled and incorporates conversational dialog from their deceased band member "Nathan Maddox" interwoven into the bands compositional structure, providing a narrative to the music as it evolves from extemporized abstraction into a echoing anthem. The first 5 minutes are emotional & severly depressing.

With this release GGD provide a blueprint for their musical trajectory as they skip from pop song to improvisation to abstract dense studio composition. The band are currently hard at work on their next studio full-length, but until then we give you the brief, but by no means trivial, RAWWAR.
Bo'Tox
Bo'Tox!
Bot'Ox is a project driven by Cosmo Vitelli and Julien Briffaz. Cosmo is playing Guitars, Bass, Synths & FXs. Julien is playing Drums, Synths & FXs. They recently got joined by Mark Kerr, aka Bogus on vocals & they just released a new EP through "I'm a cliché" records with two sides of leftfield disco weirdness for every MSTRKRFT, Soulwax, Chk Chk Chk (!!!), LCD Soundsystem, & Metronomy fan.

Tracklist:
01. Babylon By Car
02. Tragedy Sympathy

Side-A's "Babylon By Car" is all dark manic squelchyness in the first half and then drops to an electro disco, underpinned by some nice guitar bass, kooky FX & driving beats.

Over on side-B you get more of what you'd expect with "Tragedy Symphony", that being an intense slab of mid tempo druggery, with detuned percussion, seedy vocals & clunky beats, which is very fabulosly hypnotic.
HAWTNESS!
Daedalus!

Alfred Darlington a.k.a. Daedelus is an IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) & Electronica producer renowned for making cerebral, baroque electronic music and dressing like a Victorian dandy!

Daedelus chops and splices disparate acoustic sources into incredible works of staggering resonance. Contrasting IDM styled cut-ups with childlike arrangements from the 30's and 40's, he has refined a style that has no imitators. His productions find the hidden common denominator between modern electronics and sampled music from days gone by.

"Fair Weather Friends" EP is Daedelus embracing stripped-back, funky, fucked-up dance music! It’s the most official release he’s released this year, & it’s the precursor to an LP (out next year).

The "Fair Weather Friends" EP is Daedelus embracing stripped-back, funky, fucked-up dance music that feels good… Alfred himself describes it as “minimal Daedelus, sleek and laughably sexier”. The EP is the most direct and dancefloor-friendly work of his remarkable and varied career.

Tracklist:
01. Fairweather Friend
02. My Beau
03. Hermitage
04. El Subidon
05. Bonjour

Title track “Fair Weather Friends” is held together by a vocal sample of a young lady explaining “when the weather gets warm we get the same things on our minds as you boys do.” But the ballast of the track revolves around drums ‘n’ claps that wouldn’t sound out of place on a “Go! Team” record and an insistently catchy keyboard riff. But it doesn’t end there.

My Beau” (a re-imagined, re-sung re-work of Ghost Town DJ’s “My Boo”) is possibly the most shocking departure. Utterly fresh, it combines bass rhythms with great swathes of squelch and a beautifully mashed-up R&B vocal.

Hermitage” manages to keep the electro-squelch aesthetic of the EP while incorporating rock elements and a driving four to the floor. “El Subidon” goes a little bit more techno while “Bonjour” is pure jack with more sweet, electronic melodies.

Overall, whatever Daedelus plays around with – and on this EP he resists the temptation to play around too much – it has a warmth and a beauty to it which could only come from one place. “I’m still from the Golden State, from Los Angeles,” he’s happy to explain. Feel the warmth…

The (EP) is Very straight forward, very fun, a little vocal & a little harder! & I love love love “Fairweather Friend”, it reminds me of Hiem’s “Chelasea”!

MIAMI HORROR
I always dance to Miami Horror in the same way. It involves a palm down and out pulse and a simultaneous neck bob. I think it's the crunchy 80s synth baselines which are inciting this. Hmm. Anyway, due to popular demand, my general love and admiration for Miami Horror (australian wonder-youth Ben Plant), and the release of a new remix this week ("I Can Cook" by the fantastic Grafton Primary), here are some tracks which are guaranteed to get you and anyone you spring them upon dancing like a fool.

Knightlife
To be honest, I'm not sure why I'm so obsessed with Knightlife. I've only got 3 of his songs (and that's likely the way it'll stay until their major release leekz the internet, or I cough up the 40 bucks for their vinyl EP), and its damn near impossible to find much substance about the aussie producer. Maybe it's the shroud of mystery, the fact that what I've heard, I love, his touring with Cut Copy, or being signed under the superb/v. select "Cutters" label with others like Midnight Juggernauts and Kim... I DON'T KNOW. Will Knightlife continue to haunt me til I figure out how to fit him into my perceptual schema? It seems likely.

BY the way. If anyone happens to have his fantastic myspace song "Ambobop", please share. I'm just human, like you.

On a fashion related note, if you want to be well dressed while displaying your elitist musical taste, I'd recommend checking out the Cut Copy Store. I couldn't be more happy with my "cutters, cutters, cutters" tee that arrived a couple days ago.

I Interviewed : Shinichi Osawa!
danger

well alot of you should know who he is, i did a review for his album couple weeks ago & if you don't then go here & start knowing, coz hes amazing! The interview was consisted of long ass questions but shinichi only gave short not neccesarly descriptive answers & it took a translator to convert the questions to japanese & the answers to english! lol

Anyhow here's the interview, Check it out...

______________________________________________________

*First of all What made you departure from being "Mondo Grosso"? What genre your currently fall under?

This time, it was necessary to make an album focused on the aspects of DJ Shinichi Osawa, thus I used the artist name.

I hate to talk things by genres, but I guess this falls into “electro,” the global movement happening in sync.

*Why did you call it "The One"?

The Oneway

* Now even though you've been making music before they even started, but let ego aside, was "The One" by any chance influenced by "Junkie XL"? Because he released one of the best albums in 2006 that I ended up killing by overplaying it all year long & your record/songs severely remind me of his songs along with "Boys Noize" & "Digitalism"?

I haven't been influenced.

* Who/ What were your main influences in the process of making "The One"?

Many inspirations came from feedbacks at DJ GIGs.

* Your recent music, it's really a hybrid of indie rock songs and pure power electro tracks! or am I not quite right?

I guess it can be expressed like that.

*do you write the lyrics to your own music?

I think of motifs, but I don't actually write them.

* When you start producing a new tune/remix how do your start? Do you analyze the original tune and then got inspired or start from scratch? How does the process work?

It depends on each song. In fact, I try not to make rules nor theories.

* Let's talk a bit about the brilliant collaborations specially "princess superstar"? How did that happen? What made you choose her for "detonator" (because she's the absolute perfect person for it)?

My friend in NY, Larry Tee helped and came true. I had always liked her style.

* Did she have to fly to Japan or were you in the us recording the album? Did you meet?

The first phase was done in NY, but the vocal recording was done by herself.

* & the retro mingle jingle electro pop "Freeform Five", how did they get involved!?

We swapped remixes.. I also have future collaboration plans with the leader, Anu.

*Let's discuss few tracks shall we, who the hell is "Ania" singing "Push"? Because that is a one hell of a brilliant track, it just reeks with attitude! tell me more about it & her?

She is a Swedish model/singer based in Paris. Igot to know her through an art directing team called TVISIONS.
It is a rock track having much digital essence. I tried to fuse the early productions of RUN DMC and punk music.

* "Rendezvous" gave me a hard time to get into! It's the most unfitting overall with the style of the album... Don't you think you took it a bit far on some bits of the song? because at some points it sounds like a monster mash-up, bit off and a bit odd (which means it shouldn't work), but it does!?

Yes, I think this is the most experimental track, but I don't think ithas gone too far.

I sense that my improvising journey has begun again.

* Now the last track "The Golden" (which is my favorite semi-instrumental track on the album) a beautiful combo of sounds, tell us a little bit about the track, how did it come along.. What were you thinking of when you were making it?

I made this track myself. This too is a track which resulted from improvisation on the desk top.

I sampled a lot, and when I compared the outcome with the original, the process was so complicated that I can't even see the path it went through.

This is my favorite, too.

* What do you want the fans to get/feel from a whole "The One" listening session?

This is my personal philosophy, but I think once the music is made, it no longer belongs to the composer.

So, ifthe listeners listen to it in a free attitude, there is no greater pleasure for the creator.

*Who are your typical fans?

I have no idea.

* Do you think the price of music CDs is fair these days? Because i think that is the main motive for piracy & illegal music sharing!?

I don't think about these things, so I have no idea.

* What's up with the record labels & Japan? Why do you guys always get more/bonus tracks? Even with your CD (but you're Japanese and it makes sense)! But is the only chance to ever hear "Maximum Joy" & "Ami Nu Ku Tuu (The One Version)" is to import the CD for an outrageous amount of money from Japan?

This is a matter of industrial system, so I'm not the right one to answer this question.

* Who have you been listening to lately?

I've been listening to folky yet contemporary music like Feist, Kings of Convenience, and Rubies.

* Is there one producer/remixer/artist you admire and if yes, who and why?

I haven't thought about this much, because it really depends on the track.

* You request people to do remix for them or do people ask you to remix their tracks? I noticed you mostly remix for idependent artists, would compromise by remixing for a mainstream artist or a pop act?

Generally, I receive offers. I've done major artists like Jamiroquai, Basement Jaxx, and Soul2Soul.

For each and every case, I decide by the track and its music. It doesn't matter if it's major or independent.

* Any future or currently in the works Remixes?

FELIX DA HOUSECAT/RADIO (SHINICHI OSAWA REMIX)
BUNNY LAKE/BOWIE (SHINICHI OSAWA REMIX)

...& couple more on the way.

*thank you for your time, i really love "The one" & i wish you all the best for the future. I hope you enjoyed this interview.

Thank you so much for the support.

Ohh, & last year "Waters Of Nazareth" EP was enhanced with a movie titled "Crusade Part. I" directed by So Me.. incase you didn't know about it, you can watch it here.
Sexy Kavinsky!
Kavinsky "Vincent Belorgey" is one of those artists that bring their fresh & unique music to life without any commercial promotion & still humbles us under their brilliance & makes us their believers! "Kavinsky" presents himself as an animated zombie hunk & tells a fictional story through his soft-dark-retro electronic music! It all started with the promotional video of "Testarossa Autodrive" from his 1st (EP) titled "Teddy Boy" (2006) which tells the story of how he came back to life from the dead!

"Testarossa Autodrive" Storyline:
kavinsky accidently collides in his ferrari with another car on a narrow road & drives off a cliff, Police arrive to the scene & he gets rushed to the hospital but sadly nothing the doctors did could've revived him & he was declared dead. Later on with his body laying on a cold stainless steel table in the morge a dark & mysterious power brings him & his car back to life! Immediately he escapes from the hospital & goes to claim his ferrari back form the car impound & escapes in it to pursuit "revnge" as a living dead.. the rest of the story continues through his brilliant retro electro music of his second (EP) titled "1986" (2007) which is the year the accident took place in!

Tracks:
1. Testarossa Autodrive (3:37)
2. Transistor (1:22)
3. The Crash (1:44)
4. Testarossa Nightdrive (3:29)
5. Ghost Transistor (1:39)
6. Dead Cruiser (3:33)
7. Flashback (1:27)
8. Grand Canyon (3:15)
9. Wayfarer (4:29)

Official Remixes:
* Testarossa Autodrive (Mr. Oizo T42 1 Mix)
* Testarossa Nightdrive (Arpanet Rework)
* Testarossa Overdrive (SebastiAn Remix)

Seriously, any artist that invests that much thought & effort into his image as much as his music should deserve the upmost attention & respect from every electronica junkie out there!

From now on i will be paying alot of attention to "Kavinsky" & new comer "Danger" who by the way also promotes himself as an animated character & i'm guessing his video will be animated with a story involved (i hope so)! "Kavinsky" & "Danger" have kinda the same style & taste in music, but "kavinsky" has been making/showcasing music publicly way before "Danger"!

Click here to see what Kavinsky really look slike..

What Kavinsky/Danger/Jusitce have in common is the dark edge + the so fuckin' amazing music!

Life's not just about new music.... every once in a while I'll rememebr a song from my sibling's era, and love it again like it was new.

But still... new is new. Magnet has released his fourth album this year, The Simple Life. Most well known for his cover of Bob Dylan's Lay Lady Lay with Gemma Hayes, Magnet's signature style is a bit folk and a bit downtempo electronica. Combined with his smooth voice, the effect is excellent.

Check out The Gospel Song (CD-Rip, VBR) from his latest album, head down to his myspace or website, or purchase his albums from Amazon;

Danger First EP!
danger
"Danger is a young french artist but whose experience in producing music is not so young. 7 years the 23 year-old boy has been manipulating machines, programming beats, playing various styles of music, whether it be chiptunes, punk or techno. What immediatly caught me is Danger's ability to make you feel strong emotions. This guy is simply able to make you feel scared to death, happy as if it was the victory of your life, sad as if you had lost wife and children. This is about emotions. His music has a meaning, it's both personnal and universal. We do strongly believe Danger is not just one more "nu-disco" act from the french scene. He's a true composer, he's got his own universe, he's humble. And he's got talent. His first EP will be released early Nov." -ekleroshock

Ok! i'm totaly seizuring to his music, it's absolutely magnificent & alot of us have been rocking to the demo versions of "11h30" & "9h20", well his "EP" hasn't leaked or released yet but it should be soon, till then here's a full mastered version of "11h30" for your pleasure!

UNKLEJAM!
What you need to know:
* Their music is a mixture of Soul, Electronica & Funk.
* They have brilliant eye candy music videos.
* You won't skip any of the tracks.
* You will want to play it allover again after the first play.

"The kind of people in the pub who have a 'WKD side' will love Unklejam, as the trio's debut is quite the pop crowd-pleaser. 'Love Ya' is a diluted Prince for Generation SexyBack, 'Stereo' is Gnarls Barkley's 'Crazy' with lyrics borrowed from Supergrass and you can take your pick at finding slabs of Eurythmics and Gary Numan on this electro-soul shrug." -NME

Tracklist:
01. Love Ya
02. What Am I Fighting For
03. Luving U
04. Just Like Me
05. Cry
06. Go
07. Stereo
08. Touch
09. Hello
10. Don't Pass Me By
11. Daddy Genes

*I've had this for a while now but i just kept ignoring it because there were other releases that i thought were more important for me to spend my time listening to, but after 1 listening session i played it again and kept on going back to it everytime i wanted to listen to an a full album, trust me this one is a WINNER!

Toop Toop!

"Toop Toop" the first single fom the long-awaited third album "15 Again" by the legendary electro-house duo "Cassius" a.k.a. "Phillippe Zdar & Boombass", who along with "Daft Punk" kick started the french house explosion of the late '9os.

Discoish to death and click-clappy with Zdar's vocal weaving skillfully in and out of the trance beats, dodging between the keyboards, drum'n'bass and guitars in the same way that you'll be weaving your way through the dancefloor with a big grin plastered all over your face once you hear this. The summer clubbing season isn't over yet. It's one of those songs that u end up after one play singing it all day long unconciounsly! & there's no absense of guitars or bass! 2 wood knocks could be what makes a song hot!

DL:
Cassius - Toop Toop

*i do know that this is from last year, but it's too good to not write about for those who haven't heard it yet!

Any Way You Choose To Remix...
There are those bands out there with a sound that just begs to be remixed. Funky disco electro group The Black Ghosts have been latched on to by some of the best new artists and the results have been popping up around blogs like mad. I thought it'd be fun to post a few remixes of the infectious "Any Way You Choose to Give It" and let you choose which you like bestest. Listening to remixes of the same song is also a good way to get familar with the sound of the remixers themselves. En joy joy!~
