Late of the Pier
Electro rockers Late of the Pier have been creating a hot buzz in their native hemisphere across the Atlantic. So naturally no one's heard of them yet over here. Their unique brand of electro garage has been filed by NME under "new rave" (hey, everyone needs a label right?), and has drawn comparison with their contemporaries the Klaxons. However, take the annoyingly vacant layered vocals of the Klaxons and replace it with the outright talent of lead singer Dusty Shears, then add more good old fashioned synth-based rockabilly, disco, and noise-pop. Think Devo. Think B52s. Think really freaking good.

ps. did they just call me a "breadface" on their myspace?

Here's a mix I started- I was hoping to get a club to play it on my birthday, but I never ended up finishing the set in time. I brought the project to a close, and, not wanting to waste it, I thought I might as well share it.

Birmoney:
Britney Spears - Me Against The Music (Justice remix feat. Madonna)
Benny Benassi - Who's Your Daddy?
Camille Jone and Fedde le Grande - Creeps
Spank Rock - Backyard Betty
Kylie Minogue - B.P.M.
Felix Da Housecat - Rocket Ride (Freeform Reform)
Coldcut - Just For The Kick
M83 - Run Into Flowers (Midnight Fuck mix by Jackson)

Speaking of M83, a new album has just been released. Check them out.

Gimmie MORE!
Eventhough she is such a hot ass mess, I still have a soft spot for Britney. She's been quite consistent giving us good (sometimes great, sometimes tragic) pop music through the years.

If you must know "Gimme More" is out on itunes (US, Australia, Belgium, Norway, and Sweden) now!

Whether to download it or not is completely up to you.

For All You Latinos!
Colombian superstar Juanes is about to release his new album "La Vida Es Un Ratico" (Stands for "Life Is Short" or something like that). It's meant to be released Oct 23rd and the first single "Me Enamora" is already numero uno in the billboard latin chart. His style hasn't changed much, the song is massively catchy, simple but nice lyrics. Oh! and it's got a great funky guitar solo. Me Likey!

And here's the video for the song. Which is lovelyy!

WOW WAW iS Total Magique!
"We Are Wolves" use mystical powers to bring their sound to a new level of auditive threat. "A Spiral of harsh live-like power up yell yell & shout soft psych rock charged with dusty synths & electronic keyboards with a hint of drum machines guaranteed to turn on your rave & seizure mode."

Julien Doré - Moi... Lolita (Cover Of Alizée...)

What the fuck ? Don't know what to think about it...
Kinda boring... it's like a bad "Creep" cover mixed with lyrics of Alizée's song
but Alizée VS Radiohead.. good versus ! lol
I think I prefer the live version "Dig Up Elvis"

Bat For Lashes - Fur & Gold
wowowo ! First, you have to see the video for the song "What's A Girl To Do" it's amazing (you'll notice the beat is a sample of an old song from Dirty Dancing of course....) Then, you have to know that behind Bat For Lashes, there's an artist Natasha Khan, she plays every instruments, composes & sings. What I like into Bat For Lashes is that she took influences from years of musics...Now, to describe her kind of music, it's really hard... Because it's not a music that you can put in a box, but let's try : AlternativeFolkAerialPianoSlowPop ? Yeah... that's a good one ! The 3 words that comes for this album are... Pure, Aerial &... Good

For me, her most important inspirations are : Serge Gainsbourg into the female vocal really pure and soft like he did a lot with Jane Birkin or her daughter Charlotte too... also into instrumentals. Then, you can also hear some Björk, Feist, Daughter Darling, Kate Bush & Air's styles, into it too ! And this is an AMAZING STUFF ! Do you imagine ? An artist that is inspired by Gainsbourg, Bjork, Air ?

This is a brillantine for me of course... Because : - I post it, - you have everything you want in an album... cool songs & sad songs, -this is a real artist that does everything and only that deserve to be in the brillantine :)

Tracklist :
01. Horse & I (the most Bjork one)
02. Trophy
03. Tahiti
04. What's A Girl To Do (the most Gainsbourg one)
05. Sad Eyes (the most Daughter Darling one)
06. The Wizard
07. Prescilla (the most Feist one)
08. The Bat's Mouth
09. Seal Jubilee
10. Sarah
11. I Saw A Light

Sugababes..."Change"?

Well, to be honest they look the same to me. This is meant to be their new album cover which is amazingly pretty i just laaarve it innit. its great. they really are fitt. Anyways as you know they've got a new single out "About You Now" which is getting good reception & to make things even better "Kissy Sell Out" have treated the single with electronicaly. Another cool official remix is the "Sticky Remix" & it has a nice beat to it...Check Yh? Check! WORD YA'LL! Their new album "Change" will be in stores 8-Oct.

A Crocodile From The Underworld!
After five years of internet-only releases & online streams, next month Underworld will release an album, "Oblivion with Bells".

Belying its name, first single "Crocodile" Opening with a whirlwind of dazzling kaleidoscopes & some skittlish percussive licks, snakes powdery, icy, fluttering synths, crystallized (occasionally wooden) electro-drums, a low, grimy bass blurt... all frankensteined together from fag-pack jotted autoprose and bits of earwigged dialogue & glazed with an emotional, nocturnal vocodored (at times robotic) vocal showers in the harmonic ozone of his 'All these things/In me/In me' mantra about a special someone who scratches backs rhythmically & migrates beneath skin.

Gingy!
There's nothing like a ridiculously talented 20 year old to make you feel like you should just give up on life. Such is the case with Gingy, a Toronto native producer turning out catchy, oh-so dancable, yet technically impressive electro mashups. With so (SO) much new electro drifting around right now, only a few artists have made me stop, drop and shake (only semi-proverbially), and Gingy is definitely one of them. The 3 main tracks that are drifting around the blogsphere are Rios for MVP, Fire, and the latest Swagger. Each as great as the last... just grab them all, for serious.

The Go! Team.. Go! Go! Go!
Boom-bap electro rockers cum bubblegum-psych popsters burst onto the indie scene a couple years ago like the proverbial breath of fresh air. Their music, built on samples of schoolyard chants and TV theme rockers, made most everything else sound gray. Their sophomore LP is no less of a Technicolor mash-up than their 2004 Mercury Prize-nominated debut " Thunder, Lightining, Strike". Going on "Proof of Youth" the second album from Brighton’s brightest pop experimentalists the eleven songs of Proof of Youth burst out your speakers like tangy pop bubblegum, but on closer inspection, suggest a broader, braver web of Influences. Many bands can remind you of the chirpy soul singalongs of The Jackson 5, the metallic guitar clang of Sonic Youth, or the cut-and-paste sonic collages of Public Enemy’s The Bomb Squad, but only one can do it in a single song. Joyful melanges of car-chase horns, double dutch vocals, melodic guitar, and crowd-hyping rapping from MC/cheerleader Ninja. But there’s more here than formula. Pretty acoustic guitar, shaker, and synthesiser straight from some Look Around You-style 1980s science show & glorious naïve pop songs.

Rather that relying heavily on samples this time out, bandleader Ian Parton goes with a live band approach with samples blended in. It results in a slightly more organic sound, but one that's still recognizably the Go! Team. Meaning that the master tapes were dragged behind a car for a couple of miles, then dipped in wool, and left out to melt in the hot August sun. The resulting tinny and muddy mess may be enough to give audiophiles the hives, but to anyone else it's an exciting mess that fairly explodes out of the speakers in a hissy rush of sound. The drums pound, the horns blare, the guitars wail and clatter, the vocals shout to be heard, it's a whirling fun house of music.

Tacklist:
01. Grip Like A Vice (ft. Lisa Lee of "Cosmic Force" & "Sha Rock" of "Funky 4 + 1")
02. Doing It Right (ft. Kaori Tsuchida)
03. My World
04. Titanic Vandalism (ft. Marina "of "Bonde do Rolê")
05. Fake ID
06. Universal Speech (ft. the Rappers Delight Club & the Double Dutch Divas)
07. Keys To The City
08. The Wrath Of Marcie
09. I Never Needed It Now So Much (ft. Elisabeth Esselink "aka Solex")
10. Flashlight Fight (ft. Chuck D of "Public Enemy")
11. Patricia's Moving Picture

DL: The Go! Team - Proof Of Youth

Japan Bonus Tracks:
01. A Version Of Myself
02. Bull In The Heather
03. Willow's song
04. Milk Crisis*
05. Phantom Broadcast

*Not sure but i think "Milk Crisis" features "Marina" of "Bonde do Rolê"".

If singular lo-fi formula of chugging drum beats, smatterings of samples, happy marching band horns, and grade school cheerleading isn’t your cup of tea, then this album isn’t going to chart on your play list.

To give you an instant idea of what "Proof Of Youth" sounds like in one sentence i would say: a Gang-Bang session between Junior Senior, Deerhoof & few strange guitarists at a live indie gig!

Ribbed Music For The Numb Generation!
"Right & Right Again" is the latest offering from the goldfrapp-ish Soho Dolls upcomig album "Ribbed Music For The Numb Generation" (Sept, 24 - UK) & it's a blend of sleazy, dark synth pop, with punkish overtones and a thumping beat that's earned its eyeliner pencils many times over.

The Single also includes a remix of "Trash The Rental" by the terrefic "Crystal Castles".. Notice that the version here is different form the one leaked long time ago, this one has slightly more vocals.

Tracklist:
01. Right & Right Again (Radio Edit)
02. Right & Right Again (Jesse Rose Remix)
03. Trash The Rental (Crystal Castles Remix)

DL:
Right & Right Again (CDS)

It seems like crystal castles built the remix in the style of one of their own tracks "1983"!

Melissa Mars - Love Machine

lalalalaaaaaalalaaaa !

You'd think hybernating since "Devin Dazzle & The Neon Fever" in 2004 would do damage to Felix's brain but i assure you that's not possible because he's back with another concept album & this time allegedly claiming that he created music to see & not just to hear (a metaphor that is ofcourse)! Virgo Blaktro & The Movie Disco is a much more softer project or smooth-er if i may say... the new 16 tracks are pressed on a flat aluminum & fiber tube readable by a laser lense in a cd reader/player! Virgo Blaktro & The Movie Disco spans several musical genres including electronic, funk, soul & pop. this one is centered on the revival of 1970s and 1980s black music, He explains:

"This is the first record I've done with black folks, but to me it's not a colour thing, it's more like a roots thing. This record has a black, soulful groove, it's more like Sly & the Family Stone. With this album I wanted to go Parliament, I wanted to go Prince, and at the same time I wanted to go like George Michael and Pet Shop Boys, only them being black. This stuff is all black-influenced"

The record is saturated with pop.. electro pop! you can feel the other genres through out of it but the foundation is pop pop pop! Actually it sounds alot like Cut Copy, Mylo, Planet Funk, Tiga, The Presets & Basement Jaxx's "Remedy" & "Rooty" era tracks! Enriched with warm melodies, catchy lyrics, dance-able beats & sharp buzzers making it taste like snickers ice-cream heated in the microwave.

Now the sucky part which i think is actually smart is the average tracks length "just like he did in Devin Dazzle" , 2:30 per track which is considered to be interlude or demo on proper-track-length-standards these days. Why is that good well, most of the artists stretch and re-repeat-parts-of their tracks to achieve what they think is the common average track length for commercial release which is around 3:35.. but felix kept the songs just like he made them, no extensive re-touches, yawn-causing stretches or un-neccisary repeats.. but that's the case with "Some" of the songs here because you'll come across 2 over 4 min and 3 around 3 min. Even though it's good this way.. Still you'll wish some tracks were abit longer for example "I Seem 2be The1" (1:52) ohh and if you for some reason felt like you've heard the first 9 secs off it before it's probably because it sounds like the begining of madonna's "Jump".

Tracklist:
01. Virgo Arrival
02. Moviedisco
03. Like Something 4 Porno
04. Radio
05. Sweetfrosti
06. I Saw The Future Balktroman
07. Mad Sista
08. Its Been A Long Time
09. Monkey Cage
10. I Seem 2be The1
11. Its Your Move
12. Lookin My Best
13. Pretty Girls Don't Dance
14. Tweak
15. Night Tripperz
16. Future Calls The Dawn

DL: Virgo Blakto & The Movie Disco

My only regret is the male vocals on "Sweetfrosti" that shouldn't be there because it makes the track terrible (in my opinion) & should've just kept the "Ahhhs" there. Sweetfrosti contains a sample of Devo's "Snowball", originally released in 1981 & is the only track on this album not written by Felix.

In a related matter "Pretty Girls Don't Dance" (0:29) is just a speech interlude on the album but is a full track "Pretty Girls Don't Dance (What Should I Do)" (4:27) as a B-Side on the "Like Something 4 Porno" single.

TTEEPPRRRRRRR!
TEPR electronic french goodies maker releases double a side single with 2 brilliant remixes to make the goodies even goodier, "En Direct De La Cote" Sounds like an authentic opening theme to one of the movies from the 80s & backed up with a click-clack-A-Distort mix by "Patrick Alavi".. while the mildly technofied Daft Punk-esque "Menuit Jacuzzi" get's a treatment by the Justice influenced "Data".

Tracklist:
01. En Direct De La Cote (Original Mix)
02. En Direct De La Cote (Alavi Rerox Remix)
03. Minuit Jacuzzi (Original Mix)
04. Minuit Jacuzzi (Data Remix)

DL: TEPR - En Direct De La Cote (EP)

It has to be good.. It's French.
Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know

The originaL is good enough but omg "Joey Negro" made it club ready, amazing house remix it will make you like the song even more! I'm so satisfied with her new material & really didn't see it coming because her first solo album "Ruby Blue" was awful.. it just didn't work for me.

Christophe Willem - Inventaire
This album is a masterpiece of 2007 ! style This little guy is a genious, like MIKA, he have a very high voice & his musicis alternativepopelectrofunk and this is AMAZING !!!!! I know it's a french singer... SO WHAT ? Your music tastes stops at your border ? You're crazy ! Because you just CAN'T miss the HUGE number one HIT song "Double Je" ! This song is so damn hot !

Let's talk about this album... Made with Zazie, that some maybe known for her amazing track "Rodeo", and you can hear some Zazie's touch on this album... the lyrics, the music style, etc... And that is the amazing part of this album. I don't think he would do an album that amazing without her help. So thank you Zaz' ! There's a lot of different kind of music into it... it start with a beautiful ballad "Jacques A Dit", then something more old funky with "Elu Produit De L'Année", then it goes more electropop with "Double Je", the rest of it is a weird mix of influences... funkyelectropop songs... the song "Kiss The Bride" is in english and reminds me the Scissors Sisters !
And this song is amazing !! You also have songs made by Katerine, known by the HUGE success of "Louxor, J'adore" !

So... the little turtle Christophe Willem did it well !!! He did a well choice working with these wonderful people... Congrats ! Now... the second album ? mmmh... he's already workin on it... with who ? With Mylène Farmer my dears ! Yeah... The one and only, the one who made Alizée... (is she dead ?)

Anyway... if the Brillantine sill exists, this album has its place !

Robyn vs. Teddybears vs. Muscles!
I am SO annoyed that I didn't get a chance to see Robyn here in Sydney as I was working that day, I should've just called in sick or something! Anyways, Robyn's short but sweet trip in Australia commemorated the Australian release of the double A-Side single "Konichiwa Bitches/Cobrastyle".

I like Konichiwa Bitches but I personally prefer Cobrastyle out of the two. I just love the sharpness of it, the synths, the vocals, everything!!! To me it's futuristic pop at it's best! Here is the fantastic Muscles Remix of Cobrastyle, completely different from the original... and the only new track on the single.

DL: Cobrastyle (Muscles Remix)

*PS: "Cobrastyle" is a cover of the "Teddybears" single form the album "Soft Machine".

Simian Mobile Disco!
SMD is a duo of DJs and producers, formerly one-half of the indie band Simian. James Ford and James Shaw. They didn't want their songs to sound too techy and programmed, so they recorded them all on analogue machines, and kept the mistakes. To mention some of the vocal guests they called up their old Simian mucker Simon Lord and asked him to sing the swirly, Psych-Folk vocal on 'I Believe', just to prove there were no hard feelings. They roped in Barry Dobbin from sadly-missed jerk-popsters Clor to add his unique vocal hooks to the cinematic space disco of 'Love'. They enlisted exuberant Go! Team frontwoman Ninja to splatter her sassy hip-house rhymes all over irresistible opener 'It's The Beat'. They decided to name the album "Attack Decay Sustain Release" because it sounded like a good motto to live by!

Tracklist:

--> For those of you who do not know this amazing women please do yourself a favour and read up on her here and be amazed and Dazled.

her new album Mantaray, out on Monday in the UK.
So Garbage recently released their greatest hits album which is just absolutely fantastic called "Absolute Garbage". The album included the gorgeous and underrated new single "Tell Me Where it Hurts" (video), and this is the B-side to the track. Now can I just say, that I love garbage, but lately they have been sounding kinda washed up. This song however, proves that ma girl, Shirl is still got it.
Betcha is a kinda electro/ kinda rock /kinda glam/ kinda rocker chick/ kinda gorgeous! it pokes fun at the famous "don't cha" by the lovely Pussycat Dolls and shirley sings:
betcha glad your girlfriend is not a bitch like me
betcha, betcha
betcha glad your girlfriend is not a slut like me!
betcha, betcha

Anywho, its amazing and you should get it

heard it in thousand ways... but Sandi Thom does it good

Yelle - Pop Up
Yelle..Welle...Well... Where do I start ? Oh, discribing the sound of Yelle. She's amazing ! Her sound surfs onto the trend of bands like C.S.S. / Preaches / T.T.C. / Prototypes, with light but catchy electro instrumentals that sounds like from 80's pop songs with trashy/funny lyrics.
So, of course, I'm not talking about a diva, but that's why we love her !

"I sing in french... of 80's ! I don't like the past... but it was kinda good !"

Her first single was "
Je Veux Te Voir" and was in fact an answer against the stupid/shit song of T.T.C. "Girlfriend" (yes I will not post a link to it) Yelle wasn't that enjoyed by the lyrics of this song so she did the answer, geniusly. and the lyrics are more than trash ! & this is amazing ! I'd wish you could understand at least a sentence !

"It's gay... It's Fresh ! We make love ? After ! U're sure ? Yeah !!"

Anyway, so the big bad trashy funny brilliant girl is releasing a new album ! So, here's the tracklist & post 4 songs off this album Pop Up to download... hard to choose ! not because they're all the same (kindof) but love them all !!
(so I choose this simplicity... 2 singles + 2 others lol) eNjOy !

02. A Cause Des Garçons

Tuuuuuuuune In !
I want to intoduce this freaking brilliantUK "band" to ya'll. They Is The Shizz. There's isn't really a precise genre to classify them in but let's say it's Indie/Garage/Electro/Rap yup? They've been getting lots of good reception here in the UK especially among the youngstasss. They recently played in one the biggest music festival in England: Reading/Leeds festival. Their style (in clothing i mean) is very colorful and just plain COOL. Anywhoos ya'll they're deffinately worth checking out! Warning: No everyone might like this but i'm sure most you w ill. Word!

For all you people living in the UK if you can go check them out live as they currently have a bunch of dates around england.

ERRRM!
Sorry for the shortage on my end.. been busy & i have like tons of stuff that's worth reviewing and sharing (a kazillion good new releases)! i'll try my best to sort things out a.s.a.p. and get back on track updating daily... till then here's some cool stuff & some some-what-mehh-ly nice!

i wrote recently about "Kissy Sell Out" re-releasing his single "Her" commercialy.. blah blah blah.. well here's the Vocal version "it means it has vocals (DUH)" & also the "Touche" remix which is just as good as the original.. maybe better for some ppl.

DL:
Kissy Sell Out - Her (Vocal Joint)
DL: Kissy Sell Out - Her (Touche Remix)

& since i mentioned "Touche" i gotta say i was so disappointed when P. Diddy's album was released! Since Mtv and some other official sources were blabbering all the time about how he's going "Dance/Electro" which in the end turned out to be a big pile of crap.. any how this is his Electro-Dance collabo track with "Erick Morillo" remixed by "Touche" & it's way better than the original.

DL:
Erick Morillo - Dance I Said (ft. P. Diddy) (Touche remix)

in a matter of a mainstream facts i still don't know if the new J.Lo single is either "Do It Well" or "Hold It Don't Drop It".. both of them are just plain nice.. nothing to go crazy about but if i get to pick i would go for "HDDI"..Ohh and "Moto Blanco" remixed it for our pleasure.. just incase we get bored of the original after few plays..

DL:
Jennifer Lopez - Hold It Don't Drop It
DL: Jennifer Lopez - Hold It Don't Drop It (Moto Blanco Club Mix)

& i guess Cassie is pulling a Come Back with "Is It You".. this track been sent to radio stations recenlty. Not sure if it is a single or not yet! the track is pop-rock-r&b.. more pop though! I like cassie..

DL:
Cassie - Is It You (Edit: Turned out to be a new track form the "Step Up 2" Ost)

next is the duo that i would be ashamed to write any info about, coz if you listen to electronic music then you're are mandatorily supposed to know who they are.. anyhow just incase you didn't know about this.. the new single "Mer Du Japon" which btw means "Sea Of Japan" has more lyrics on the radio edit than the album version.. they just mention more sea names or something! ohh and to make it more brilliant "The Teenagers" (one of the to-keep-eyes-wide-open-for new electro group) has remixed it.. and now it's dance-able.

DL:
Air - Mer Du Japon (Radio Edit)
DL: Air - Mer Du Japon (The Teenagers Remix)

we all know by now "Felix Da Housecat" is back with his new single "Like Something 4 Porno" (i made a recent post about it) & someone like him wouldn't release a thing withou backing it up with kick-ass-good mixes! and this is one of them, trust me it will bring out the fag in you... i just wanna jump around my room in my underwear everytime i play this!

DL:
Felix Da Housecat - Like Something 4 Porno (Kris Menace Remix)

now on an indie side this new australian artist/group called "Old Man River" has this nice song that grows well on you if you water it and give it time! you probably wanna start by watching the video before playing the song.. coz that's how i got into it.. it's a good song i promise! but you won't like it form the first play.. suxx for some..

Last but not least (at all).. the EX. "MOLOKO" Roisin Murphy is releasing the second single "Let Me Know" from her upcoming album & it became one of my recent favourite tracks immediately from the first play! Her album is one of the ones i'm itchingly waiting for!

DL: Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know

That's That For Now! <3

! Yelle - A Cause Des Garçons !

oh god, don't know what to think...
AMAZING SHIT ! anyway :)

Freemasons turns Alanis' snooze-fest into a disco thumping (soon to be) hit!
Uninvited
is the new single from the British dance duo Freemasons. It is a cover of an Alanis Morissette song and features newcomer Bailey Tzuke on vocals. I usually hate it when a dance act covers a song but this is quite good! The Freemasons and Bailey did a very good on this.
An earlier white label version of this actually featured Alanis' vocals but she probably didn't want to get involved with this project, which is such a shame because it is a sure fire hit!

DL:
Uninvited (featuring Bailey Tzuke)

PS: I posted a picture of Bailey Tzuke instead because the Freemasons aren't actually pin-up material... Hey, at least they're talented!
