The Swedish New-Disco duo “Daniel Lissvik” & “Rasmus Hagg” are the impossible-to-Google band “Studio” & their debut “West Coast” deserves as much hype as justice’s “Cross”! Clocking in at a mere six tracks West Coast might sound like it might be a tad brief, as albums go, but nonetheless the album nearly clocks up an hour's worth of play time and without doubt crams in an impressive run of ideas. The gloriously lurid neon album is made out of addictive early '80s-themed passages, Kraut Dub (skanking Reggae licks and steel pans included), Afrobeat rhythms, Prog Rock, Bluesy Guitar Riffs, early-nineties style Breakbeat & full-bodied & weighty Retro Dance-drone music in a very modern way.

This synth based album probably contains the most enthrallingly intelligent, refreshingly subtle electronic music on the planet. It has equal brilliance of “Lindstrom & Prins Thomas”, “Boozoo Bajou”, & “Junior Boys” combined!
