Meet the Irish “Beck” Richie Egan, Dublin resident and sole proprietor of the Jape alter ego who just released his new album “The Monkeys In The Zoo Have More Fun Than Me”.
This album is preceded by a radio promo single “Floating” a gorgeously stoned, charmingly lo-fi affair, slacker-pop nugget with an underlying electro riff, complemented by Jape's vocals, tambourines and guitars perfectly illustrating its creator’s love of both melody and modern, mechanical beat-laden production!

But it's the remixes which make this release a gem. Alex Metric's version turns the Beck sounding track into a tough, noisy, electro tune, whilst the Prin Thomas and Son Green versions keep close to the original but add a funkier, floatier sound. The single has been re-issued with extra remixes by Bobmo, D.I.M., & Tronik Youth!
