Bolt Action Five is Tobias J Hughes (Guitar!), Ian William Galloway (Bass, Bleeps, Beats), Dan the Carnivore (Lead Vocals) and Mark Murphy (Micro-Korg) from London were repeatedly praised by Artrocker, PlayMusic, NME, I-D, Disorder & various online music journals.
The band have been multi categorised by others & themselves as Nu Rave, Indietronic, Industro-Pop, Dancepunk, Electrometal & even Post-Harcore! In interviews “Bolt Action Five” have listed influences as Devo, Nine Inch Nails, Wire, Prince and Michael Jackson.
Their debut synth metal pop single was “Tree Friend Tree Foe” [March/UK/500 green vinyl only] which refers to “CiTV's Knightmare where kids had to find their way around a Dungeons & Dragons-style computer-generated world with a helmet covering their eyes!” followed by their first 6 tracks EP “File Under Wolves” [July/US/200 CD only] that included 2 remixes of “TFTF” by Dan Le Sac & Kissy Sell Out & was the first place to get “TFTF” on CD!

Later on came their most recent single “Think Fast” [October/UK/500 Vinyl + Digital DL] a synth-heavy urgent space-indie magic single opens with an 8-bit power pop keyboard lick which is suddenly choked into submission by a nick snapping, gloriously flying-V assisted splintered sweaty mess of rusty chainsaw guitars, malfunctioning drum machine hits & ridiculous power pop keyboard riffs that gets better with every listen. The single is backed with the falsetto’d Robotic-sex funk B-side ”Can The Freedom Regulate The Volume” !

On Nov, 19 the band re-released the single “TFTF” with extra remixes by Hadouken! & Run Hide Survive & a new sleeve! FYI, all of their artwork is done by their guitarist “Tobias Jones” who’s also responsible for the cover of the second “Arctic Monkeys” album.

The band is currently working on their first album & have finished recording 4 tracks with producer Frankmusik & 1 with James Bully who also produced “tree friend tree foe”.
Lead Vocalist “Dan the Carnivore” is currently working in his weekends on an album project with a certain popular producer/remixer, who shall remain Nameless for the time being. The project is moving quickly and expects an international release in the next few months.
